A little bit about myself… Hi!! I’m Sara, a work at home Mom to 4 sweet, loving, adorable, energetic little ones, and have the most incredible, understanding husband of 14 years. When our first little was born I had a career as a franchisee for a well known food chain. The transition to Mom/Business Owner was tricky and something I struggled to balance. I had never pictured myself as a stay at home Mom, but once our second child was born, I knew I had to make a change.
In the Beginning
I learned to knit and crochet from my Grandma at a young age. Over the years I started projects, but didn’t really pick up my hook again until our first child was born. During this transition to parenthood I found myself relying on crocheting and crafting as a creative outlet to keep me balanced. I began making items as gifts for friends and family and things grew from there.
With a whole lot of encouragement (its scary to put yourself and your work out there) I finally took the plunge and started a little side business selling my products (mostly crocheted items) at craft shows and taking custom orders. The business was doing great and I loved every minute of it! I naturally began creating my own crochet designs and it quickly became my dream to be able to make this little business into a career while staying home with my kids.
Accessorize This Designs is born
We sold the franchise in 2015 and I published my first pattern in April of 2016 and haven’t looked back. Its been a crazy awesome ride full of ups, downs and incredible learning experiences. As the journey continues I can’t wait to get to know all of you as we kick up our feet and craft together.
