The Benefits of a No-Sew Amigurumi Pattern!

This pattern works up quickly and easily with absolutely NO SEWING and very little embroidery required. The body/head are worked in one piece with features like the ears and antlers worked in as you go.

There are many benefits to using a no-sew crochet pattern, especially for beginners. No-sew patterns are quick and easy to complete, as they eliminate the need to sew pieces together. This can save you time and frustration. Additionally, no-sew patterns are perfect for creating small, amigurumi projects.

It is highly recommended to complete the No Sew Jelly Bean Baby Chick pattern in the order the pattern is written.

Start your Jelly Bean Reindeer Crochet Pattern:

Jelly Bean Reindeer Ears (make 2):

Made in a joined oval round.

Using Main Colour, ch 3

Round 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, (sc, ch2, sc) in last ch, turn (rotate) and begin working in the back of the ch, sc in the last ch, join to first sc (4)
End off, leaving a 6” tail for if sewing (2” if crocheting on).

Jelly Bean Reindeer Antlers (make 2):

Created in 1 Row.

Using Chocolate, ch 4

Row 1:  (main antler) ss in the 2nd ch from the hook, (to make ‘branch’ of antler) ch 2, ss into the 2nd ch from the hook, (back to the main antler), ss in the next 2 sts.
End off, leaving a 4” tail for sewing

Jelly Bean Reindeer Head/Body:

The head and body are worked in one piece from front to back in continuous rounds.

Lining Up Back Legs:

Using Beige, create a Magic Ring

Round 1: 6sc in the ring (6)
Round 2: *sc, 2sc* 3 times (9)
Round 3: *sc in the next 2 sts, 2sc* 3 times (12), change to main colour
Round 4: *sc, 2sc* 6 times (18)
Rounds 5-7: sc in each st (18)
Round 8: *sc in the next st, scdec* 6 times (12), change to chocolate
Round 9: bobble st, change to main colour, sc, 2sc, sc, change to chocolate, bobble st, change to main colour, sc, *2sc* 5 times, sc (18)

Adding Antlers:

Place the animal down on a hard surface with the opening facing away from you and the legs facing down (evenly spaced) on the surface.  Find the 3 centre sts showing on Round 5.  Place st markers in the 2nd and 4th sts of Round 5 (1 st in between, shown in yellow).

Making sure the legs are lined up with the antlers.  Pull the tails of each antler through each side of the marked st. Tie in place.

Adding Ears: Place st markers on the outer side of each yellow st marker on round 5 (shown in blue).  Pull the tails in from the ears on the top and bottom of the marked sts from round 5.  (Make sure the ‘curl’ of the ear faces forward). Tie in place
Note:  Feel free to sew on the antlers/ears if preferred.
Adding Eyes:     If using safety eyes, place 5 sts apart on Round 3 of the head (below the outer edge of each ear).

Rounds 10-13: sc in each st (18), change to Chocolate at the end of Round 13

Round 14:

Lining up the back legs.

Place the animal down on a hard surface with the legs face ‘up’ and the head facing you.  Locate the 4 centre front sts and mark them with a stitch marker (the back legs will be placed on either side of these sts). Locate the far right marked st.  Count over 1 st to the right of it (if this is not the next unworked st then crochet over to this st, these extra sts will not count as the beginning of this round). (If left handed you will locate the left st and count 1 st to the left).

Bobble St, change to main colour,  sc in the next 4 sts (these are the marked sts), change to chocolate, Bobble St, change to main colour, sc in the next 6 sts, Sm Bobble St, sc in the next 5 sts (18)

Round 15: *sc, scdec* 6 times (12)
Finish stuffing
Round 16: *scdec* 6 times (6)
End off leaving a 6 inch tail, cinch the last 6 sts together and weave in the end.

Sewing Placement – I highly recommend pinning ALL parts in place BEFORE sewing to make sure everything sits properly and is to your liking 🙂

Nose:
Using Red,  insert needle 1-2 sts horizontally to the right of the top centre hole.  Repeat under the upper portion of Round 1 of the body 3-4 times then end off.

Follow video for embroidering the nose.

Congratulations!
