Spring is here at last, and with that comes Easter!!
I love seeing the kids excitement as they run through the house searching for eggs that the Easter Bunny has left for them. This year will be extra special since our 17 months old will also be able to participate in the fun. Since she’s still pretty young (haha and a little slower than the other 3 ;)), I decided to make something special for her to find.
These sweet little bunnies are about 5 inches long when made with Worsted Weight yarn and work up very quickly. It’s no secret, I’m a huge fan of working with chenille type yarns. So when I saw the new Spring colours of Bernat Baby Crushed Velvet Yarn at my local Michaels Store a few weeks ago, I knew it would be perfect for these guys.
The Pocket Pal Bunny Crochet Pattern is designed so that after embroidering the nose (video included) only the ears and tail need to be sewn in place.

- I highly recommend using a stitch marker to help keep track of the rounds for the body/head
- The pattern has both a ‘sew’ and no sew option for the limbs shown in the Body/Head section.

It is highly recommended to complete the Flip Flop patterns in the order they are written (especially if you are using the no-sew option for the limbs).

How to assemble your Pocket Pal Bunny Crochet Pattern
Sewing Placement – I highly recommend pinning ALL parts in place BEFORE sewing to make sure everything sits properly and is to your liking 🙂
Note: Disregard sewing the legs if you’ve already crocheted them on. Front Legs: Place the front legs on the underside of the body (opposite side to the eyes) at approx Round 17 of the body about 2 sts apart. Sew in place. When sewing the front legs in place I sewed the top of the last FULL ROUND DOWN instead of just the sts from crocheting the round together. |
Back Legs: Using the front legs as a guide. Place the back legs at approx Round 25 of the body, approx 4 sts apart. Sew in place. When sewing the back leg in place I sewed the top of the last FULL ROUND DOWN instead of just the sts from crocheting the round together. |
Nose: Follow video for embroidering the nose. Video: https://youtu.be/l6kOpvoMQDQ |
Ears: Place the ears running on an angle between Rounds 10-12 with the front bottom corner approx 2 rounds behind the eyes and 2 sts apart, the back bottom corner angles back 2 rounds. Sew in place. |
Tail: Centred on the back of the body. Place between Rounds 26 and 27 of the body. Sew in place. |

when do you place the safety eyes
Thank you so much for reaching out. I waited to add the eyes after Round 26, but you could add them as early as round 18 (after the front legs are attached).
