Learn how to crochet a quick NO SEW Jelly Bean Shark amigurumi! This fast crochet shark pattern works up in just one piece. The body is crocheted seamlessly, with only the dorsal fin and tail added at the end. The simple construction means no fiddly sewing and fewer ends to weave in, making it a perfect weekend project. At only 3.5 inches tall, this mini shark plush is great for last‑minute gifts or market prep. Plus, it can be customized in different colours to match any ocean theme. Which makes it a great scrapbuster project idea!
Fun Ways to Use Your Crochet Shark
I know, it’s super cute and you want to make it, but what can you do with your finished shark plush? Don’t worry, I’ve got you girl! As a mom, amigurumi designer, and lifelong ocean lover, I have plenty of ways to make the most of these cute little sharks:
- A soft mini shark toy for imaginative play.
- A sea‑themed ornament for nurseries or ocean décor.
- Part of a mobile or hanging garland with other sea creatures.
- An engaging teaching tool for kids learning about marine life.
- A thoughtful handmade gift for anyone who loves sharks.
- A quick pattern that’s ideal for craft fairs or stash‑busting projects.
There’s no limit to how this tiny shark can be enjoyed at home, in classrooms, or as a gift.
The Jelly Bean Shark is crocheted using a combination on Hobbii Yarns (Honey Bunny, Baby Snuggle, and Toucan). These are all similar to Premier Parfait Chunky), a light super bulky (6) yarn. You can also try other favourite amigurumi yarns — here’s a post with more scrap yarn tips for guidance.
This crochet Shark pattern also includes a Full Video Tutorial!

Why So Many People Love Sharks
Sharks capture people’s imagination in a completely different way than whales or dolphins. Here’s why they often top the list of fascinating sea creatures:
- Ancient survivors – Sharks have existed for more than 400 million years, making them older than trees.
- Essential to ecosystems – As apex predators, they keep ocean populations balanced and healthy.
- Variety of species – From tiny dogfish to massive whale sharks, their diversity is unmatched in our oceans.
- Power and speed – Their streamlined bodies and incredible senses make them extraordinary hunters.
- Cultural icons – From documentaries to movies, sharks are a symbol of strength and mystery.
Their mix of beauty, power, and importance in ocean life makes them a favourite for many. And this mini crochet shark pattern doesn’t highlight their teeth, making it an extra cute shark softie.
