I have the perfect addition to your Halloween décor with this Free Crochet Spider Pattern, that’s now part of the Jelly Bean No-Sew Amigurumi Series ! This quick Halloween amigurumi project creates a fun and friendly spider that’s quick to make, making it ideal for last-minute decorations or craft fairs.

With its eight legs and cuddly design, this crochet spider pattern is more cute than creepy, perfectly complimenting your other fall creations. I think you’ll happily find this pattern is versatile and fun to work up. You can whip up several spiders in just a few hours, perfect for decorating your space or gifting to friends who love the goth aesthetic!

I’ve tried to design a kind of realistic spider, without the possibility of mistaking it for a scary arachnid, if you happen upon it in the night! It’s cute, it’s cuddly, and this free pattern makes a terrific stashbuster, that can make use of your leftover yarn!

How to Make a Quick and Easy Spider’s Web!

Here are three quick and creative ways to make a spider web to pair with your no-sew crochet spider! Make the web, and then sit your spider within it, for an instant Halloween decoration!

1. COTTON WOOL Stretch out cotton wool as thinly as you can, to create a realistic-looking spider web. Gently pull the fibres apart to form thin, web-like strands and drape them over furniture, walls, or corners. This method works great for adding a spooky vibe to your Halloween setup.

2. YARN Use white or grey yarn to create a simple spider web. Thinner yarns tend to work best for creating that delicate, tangled look.

Stretch the yarn across to another point and secure it. Repeat this process to create a basic framework in different directions.

Once you have the main structure, begin loosely looping and draping the yarn back and forth between the strands, allowing it to tangle naturally. Don’t worry about making it perfect; the messier, the better!

Let some pieces hang loosely for that authentic, spooky effect.

3. HOT GLUE Create a web using hot glue for a transparent, delicate look. On a sheet of parchment or wax paper, draw the web design with the glue, letting it dry completely before peeling it off. Once it’s ready, you can hang or drape it in your desired spot for a realistic effect. (NOTE on Safety: this might not be a pet or kid-friendly idea)
