Flamingos are such gorgeous creatures. Every time we go to the zoo I’m always mesmerized by their stunning pink feathers. These little cuties are probably one of my favourite recent makes.
I found these beautiful colours of Bernat Baby Velvet and Bernat Baby Crushed Velvet (both medium (4) weight yarns) at my local Michaels store a little while ago. It was love at first site and has been used in a bunch of recent designs, including the Pocket Pal Bunny and Chicks. With beautiful pink and coral tones in was inevitable that I use it for cute little flamingos as well.
These patterns are constructed by working from the bottom up with the option to minimize sewing and crochet the limbs into the body as you go.

How to assemble your Pocket Pal Flamingo Crochet Pattern
Sewing Placement – I highly recommend pinning ALL parts in place BEFORE sewing to make sure everything sits properly and is to your liking 🙂
Note: Disregard sewing the feet and wings if you’ve already crocheted them on. Feet: Place the Feet at approx Round 5 of the body about 4 sts apart.Sew in place. When sewing the feet in place I sewed the top of the last FULL ROUND DOWN instead of just the sts from crocheting the round together. |
Wings: Place the wings at approx Round 18 of the body, approx 4 sts apart. Sew in place. When sewing the wing in place I sewed the top of the last FULL ROUND DOWN instead of just the sts from crocheting the round together. |
Beak: With the increases from Rounds 3 and 4 pointing down, centre the beak below the eyes placing it between Rounds 25 and 29 of the head. Stuff lightly and sew down along Round 8 of the beak |
Tail: Place centred on the back of the body between Rounds 5 and 11. Stuff lightly and sew in place along Round 7 of the tail. |
