Season’s Greetings

What do you think?  Are you ready for that salutation yet?  It’s hard to believe that December is here already!

Raise your hand if you are frantically working through your Holiday Handmade Gifts?!  Or maybe, you haven’t even had a chance to start?  Perhaps, you just need to figure out a few ‘harder to make for’ people?

I’m here to tell you it’s totally okay!  There’s no need to panic.  I’m right there with you!

Every year, I have the best intentions to gift something handmade to just about everyone on my list.  Because, why not?!  And every year, I get all kinds of ideas as to what I’m going to make.  I plan and plan and plan, but the actual making of the gifts never begins.  I get busy with something else and think to myself “I have lots of time still to make that gift”.  Then all of a sudden I flip over the calendar to December and begin to go into panic mode.

Luckily this year I have a back up plan.  (Don’t worry, I’ve got your back too ;))

Winter Photo Frame Ornaments crochet patterns!

Now with 6 Brand New Characters!

With 6 New Characters available, there are now 12 unique, adorable little characters to choose from.  Each pattern includes a different character with their own little personality, winter accessories and a photo frame to personalize your ornament.

Choosing Materials

Deciding on yarn for these guys was super simple.  I wanted something extra soft yet durable.  I also wanted to make sure the yarn had a variety of vibrant colours to choose from.  After searching through my stash and online, Brava Worsted Weight yarn from @WeCrochet was the only one that checked all the boxes.  Not only is it a quality acrylic worsted weight yarn, but it’s easy to order and ships quickly.  It’s a win win all around.  I also went with 10.5 mm Black Safety Eyes from @SuncatcherCraftEyes.  (You should also check out the amazing patterned eyes she has in stock <3).  After testing out a few characters with these materials, I was absolutely smitten with them.

The Design

The first 6 character set is more traditional and includes a Santa, Elf, Reindeer, Gingerbread, Snowman, plus sweet Snowy Owl.   The second set has 6 cute little animals.  Each of the 12 Characters has its own unique style.  They are all worked from the bottom up, the legs/body/head are worked in 1 piece, with the arms crocheted in as you go.  Each pattern contains winter accessories and 1 of 4 different photo frames to complete your ornament.

The patterns consist of written instructions, with photo and video tutorials to help you along the way.

These guys make the perfect last minute gift for all ages.  They are incredibly versatile and can be made as stuffies for the littles (or young at heart) on your list, and can be made with or without the photo frame for an adorable tree ornament.  They are my go-to this year for any of the “hard to buy for” individuals on my list.  In fact, I also plan to gift them to all the kids’ teachers!

Yup, these guys can solve all your handmade gift giving challenges ;).

All 12 patterns can be purchased individually or as part of a 6 pattern E-book (Winter or Holiday Collections) and are available on Ravelry and Etsy

Wishing you a Happy Holiday Crocheting Season,

Sara <3
