Learn how to crochet a NO SEW Jelly Bean Jellyfish amigurumi! The Jelly Bean Jellyfish is a little more detailed than the dolphin or shark, but still simple enough for beginners. Plus it’s a fun tongue-twister. 😉 Its flowing tentacles and rounded body are all worked as one piece, so there’s no separate sewing required. The extra length from the tentacles makes this mini plush slightly more time‑consuming, but the result is worth it. At around 3.5 inches tall, it’s perfect for gifting, ocean‑themed décor, or as part of the full Jelly Bean Sea Creature collection.

Why Do You Want to Crochet a Jellyfish?

These mini jellyfish are just as versatile as they are cute. They’re something a little different don’t you think? Here are a few ideas to spark inspiration:

  • Hang them as mobiles or car mirror charms.
  • Use them as ocean-themed ornaments for holiday trees.
  • Turn them into charms pulls for kids’ backpacks.
  • Combine with other Jelly Bean creatures for a playful sea life garland.
  • Add them to market tables as quick, eye-catching items for sale.
  • Include them in handmade gift bundles for ocean lovers.

The Jelly Bean Jellyfish is crocheted using a combination of Hobbii Honey Bunny, Toucan and Baby Snuggle (similar to Premier Parfait Chunky), a light super bulky (6) yarn. Experiment with your favourite amigurumi yarns — here’s a guide to help you choose.

The full set of Jelly Bean Sea Creatures — including jellyfish, starfish, whale, dolphin, lobster, shark, and stingray — is available now in the 7‑pattern bundle:

Why Are Jellyfish So Fascinating?

Jellyfish are unlike any other creature in the ocean — soft, silent, and endlessly intriguing. With no brain or heart, they’ve drifted through the seas for millions of years, glowing in the dark and pulsing gracefully with the tide. Their otherworldly appearance makes them favourites for both kids and adults, sparking curiosity and awe rather than fear – despite their often nasty stings. Jellies are living proof of how simple life forms can be beautiful and complex all at once.
